What is ABS EDGE BANDING

ABS edge banding has been on the market for about 20 years, gradually replacing PVC in the furniture and woodworking industries. More and more companies and manufacturers are aware of the environmental impact of PVC and need to find more environmentally friendly products and process alternatives.

ABS is a high-grade thermoplastic, very resistant to daily scratches. It is also waterproof, highly heat-resistant, and will not be damaged by household cleaning products, making it very suitable for home kitchens.

It is also an excellent material for offices, bathrooms, all interior furnishings, shop decorations and even exhibition stands. Its high heat resistance means it can be used on a kitchen cabinet next to a hot oven or stove without being damaged or deformed.

As an edge, ABS is very flexible and offers almost unlimited application options. Whether it is a straight-edged board, a curve or a custom shape, you can shape this material to suit your design aesthetics. Processing on the edge banding machine is also relatively easy.

ABS is lighter in composition and density than PVC, but still provides an incredibly durable surface to protect the edges of your board. It offers some of the same advantages as PVC, with the added benefit of being fully recyclable and biodegradable.
